Charles is always particularly pleased to work on special, often commemorative projects for clients.
It was with great pleasure that I made and dedicated my first Ghost Sculpture to our dear friend Vanessa.
When Vanessa lost her beloved husband, Tony, I wanted to produce something in his memory, as well as a sculpture that would reflect Tony and Vanessa's love and the nourishment they gave their extended family.
If possible, I hoped my work would be considered a beautiful sculpture by those viewing it outside the family unit, but within the family, each would recognise their unique contribution to my work. I asked Vanessa to discover the favourite colour of each of her 8 grandchildren, her stepchildren, and their spouses.
With this information, I ordered an 8MM cut stone to reflect their colour choices.
The 8 grandchildren were grouped into their family units at a lower level, and then the jewels were added. The same family groups were used for the 3 stepchildren, and their stones were added.
The work was only counterbalanced and stable when the weight of the grandchildren was added, 25mm 316 stainless steel balls.
Finally, Vanessa and Tony were joined together, and diamond Moissanite stones were set into 25mm balls. Tony was additionally added to the top of the work and marked with his favourite colour, Garnet, set into a larger 32mm ball.
My greatest pleasure is to work on commissioned pieces that are full of personal meaning for the patron, as well as beautiful standalone works in their own right.
I'd be delighted to hear from you if you would like to discuss a bespoke project.
